AEM DRYFLOW Air Filters
The Best Filtration
AEM has reinvented the Lifetime performance aftermarket air filter. Our DRYFLOW Synthetic filter is the first performance air filter that does not require filter oil to filter and trap dirt and contaminants, and delivers industry leading filtration and durability that is unmatched by our competitors.
AEM’s DRYFLOW Synthetic filter eliminates the hassle of re-oiling after cleaning and has better filtration and dust trapping capabilities than any other performance aftermarket filter. Our unique non-woven polyester element filters out 98.6% of airborne dust in initial efficiency (99.4% cumulative efficiency), and filters down to ONE MICRON of particulate! For comparison, a human hair is about 100 microns thick. This improved efficiency translates into longer engine life by keeping more ring- and seal-eating dirt out of your engine, with no degradation in engine power compared to oiled air filters. It also means you won’t have warranty issues at the dealership because you never have to worry about over-oiling the element and having the filter oil damage your vehicle sensors.
Durable and Easy to Clean
Our media is so durable that it can withstand almost unlimited cleanings without degrading filtration efficiency, and it’s easy to clean! The DRYFLOW synthetic media resists water absorption and since you never have to oil it cleaning time goes from about a day to about an hour. Because of the superior fine-dust filtering efficiency of the DRYFLOW Synthetic filter, it may require slightly more cleaning intervals depending on your driving conditions.
We reinforced the DRYFLOW filter element with a lightweight mineral-reinforced plastic cage that maintains the element’s structural integrity and eliminates the chance of the filter collapsing from flow demands, while also reducing the filter’s overall weight. Unlike cotton-gauze filters that use metal screened mesh to form the pleats, our DRYFLOW filter can withstand twisting and bumps, and still look and perform like new!
Plenty of Flow for Gas & Diesel
AEM’s DRYFLOW Synthetic filter flows almost as well when it is dirty as it does when it is clean, and flows over twice as much air than is required for large displacement engines in vehicle applications covered by BRUTE FORCE intakes. “Many of our competitors emphasize flow as a primary means of power production in intakes,” stated Chief Engineer John Concialdi. “While flow is certainly an important part of the equation, we find that tuning the inlet to work with the harmonics of the engine produces the best power gains. We address flow in the sense that the engine requires a given amount of flow, so we calculate our filter size to exceed this flow requirement to accommodate potential future engine modifications. This allows us to retain a high level of filtration efficiency and still exceed the flow requirements of an engine. Our filters will trap more dirt, and consequently extend the life of the rings and seals in your engine.”

AEM V2 Intakes
AEM V2 Intakes
AEM’s V2 intake systems use a patented dual chamber design to produce the most power and torque of any other intake system available—even our own Cold Air systems.
On a dyno graph, the area under the power band (or power curve) represents the amount of effort that an engine is producing. The larger the overall area under the curve, the more power your engine is making. The AEM V2 utilizes a dual chamber (using two different diameters and lengths of piping) that creates multiple frequency sound waves to produce the largest area under the curve of any intake system on the market. These sound waves help charge the cylinders with more air throughout the entire rpm range and are what enables the V2 to outperform even our own Cold Air systems.
We have found that inlet length plays a vital role in the power production of V2 systems and not all V2 induction systems relocate the filter outside of the engine compartment. In these cases, we performed extensive temperature testing to locate the filter in the coolest area of the engine compartment to achieve the lowest inlet temperatures possible. Please refer to our temperature testing procedures for more information.

AEM Short Ram Intake
AEM Short Ram Intakes
AEM Short Ram intake systems are an economical alternative to our Cold Air systems and deliver the best performance, value and ease of installation than any other short inlet intake. Our Short Ram intakes install easily under the hood and cost less because we use less material to manufacture them.
During the development process, we found certain applications respond favorably to shorter inlet lengths over our longer Cold Air designs. For these applications (denoted in the search results page), we offer a Short Ram system only. We perform extensive temperature testing to locate the filter in the coolest area of the engine compartment, which allows our Short Ram systems to achieve the lowest inlet temperatures possible. AEM Brute Force Intakes
AEM BRUTE FORCE Intakes
AEM designs its BRUTE FORCE intakes for popular trucks, SUVs and late-model, fuel injected musclecars, and dyno-tunes each system to create more torque and horsepower than any other intake for large displacement engines. We test against the competition, and won’t release a system unless it outperforms all other offerings.
Our mechanical engineers emphasize tuning the resonance properties of the inlet pipe to help carry more air to the intake valves. We route our plumbing so that the filter draws air from the safest and coolest location, and provide a steel powdercoated heat shield to shroud the filter from engine heat and road dirt. Every BRUTE FORCE intake we make is 50-state legal or pending legality (excluding “Off Road” systems), and we guarantee them for life.
Our R&D testing procedures and quality-first manufacturing processes set our intakes apart. But at the end of the day, what makes our intakes different is that we make more torque and horsepower than the competition, and deliver the best filtration and performance available through our DRYFLOW Synthetic filter. Combine this with compete hardware in every kit, a steel heat shield, reinforced brackets, unmatched looks and a lifetime guarantee, and it’s easy to see why BRUTE FORCE Intakes deliver the most “Air Power.”

AEM Air Bypass Valve for Cold Air Intake
AEM Air Bypass Valve for Cold Air
AEM’s patented Air Bypass Valve virtually eliminates the chance of hydro-lock in the event the filter of your AEM Cold Air induction system becomes submerged in water. On most systems, the valve installs along the upper portion of the inlet pipe and shuts down induction at the filter when it becomes submerged, rerouting air through its external diaphragm to keep water out and air flowing in. Check with your dealer or call AEM for more information on air bypass valve installation locations. The AEM Air Bypass Valve is C.A.R.B. exempt on AEM Cold Air induction systems only and is NOT for use on forced induction vehicles. Patent #6,394,128.

AEM Performance Cold Air Intake
AEM Cold Air Intakes
AEM pioneered the Cold Air induction system for sport compact cars in 1994.
A Cold Air intake system relocates the filter outside of the engine compartment to deliver the coolest air inlet temperatures possible. Cooler air carries more oxygen, which translates into a more intense explosion in the combustion chamber to create more horesepower and torque. But that's only part of the power equation. Tuning the inlet pipe in length and diameter to match the engine's resonance helps move more air to the cylinders (think of your engine as a big air pump), and no company on the market can tune an inlet as well as we can. We also monitor fuel trim correction factors and all OBDII sensors during R&D to eliminate leaning the engine out and/or throwing a check engine light.
Our Cold Air systems are dyno-proven and tested against the competition to create more useable power than any other system of their kind. Every AEM Cold Air induction system features the highest standards of construction and we are so confident in their fit and performance that we guarantee them for the life of your vehicle. All AEM Cold Air systems are either 50-state legal or pending (excluding "Off Road" and "Hybrid" systems), include a lifetime DRYFLOW Synthetic air filter and come with a limited lifetime warranty.
